African Wild Dog Fundraiser – January 2016

In January 2015 the first annual fundraiser for African Wild Dogs, sponsored by Ultimate Africa Safaris, was held in Seattle, USA. There was a great turnout and over US $32,000 was raised to help fund Dr. Gregory Rasmussen’s Painted Dog Research Trust in Zimbabwe. What a success!

The second annual fundraiser will be held at 7PM the evening of Thursday, January 7, 2016. From 7PM to 8PM there will be  a silent auction with appetizers and a no host bar. Dr. Gregory Rasmussen (who I actually used to work with in Harare, Zimbabwe) will speak at 8:15PM. He will share his latest research on African Painted Dogs in Zimbabwe including progress the drone team has made thanks to donations from last year’s event. A live auction will follow with unique items and exciting packages to include a safari to Botswana and Victoria Falls (see below), a Napa Valley wine tasting weekend, and a Seahawks package!

Ultimate Africa is again sponsoring he event and have donated an 6 night / 7 day Botswana and Victoria Falls safari for 2 people valued at US $20,000.

There is a fee of US $50 per person with monies going to Wild Dog Research. Each guest has the opportunity to win 2 first class tickets aboard Alaska Airlines to any US destination they fly to.

The event will be held at the Ballard Elks Club at 6411 Seaview Avenue NW, Seattle, WA 98107. There is ample free parking in front of the building.  Please come up the stairs or take the elevator to the second floor. Doors open at 6:45PM.
