return to ULTIMATE AFRICA SAFARIS 2004 AFRICA SAFARI
CHALLENGE Chobe National Park is a raw and compelling wilderness area and is home to over 50,000 elephant. Other wildlife in Botswana's premier park include large numbers of giraffe, buffalo, lion, leopard, hippo, crocodile, lechwe, puku and more! You will enjoy exploring this area with your professional guide who, on day and night time wildlife viewing drives and on walks, will share his knowledge of the bush with you. From learning to tell how fast an elephant was moving through the bush by investigating its tracks to to making a fish hook and fishing line from local plants you will be astounded. While in the area you may wish to visit one of the local villages or the school. Your professional guide will translate as you meet with locals and learn about life in rural Africa. There is nothing made up or touristy about this experience and some people may feel uncomfortable by the sight of people living in such poverty. For many travelers this is the most moving experience of their African safari. While in the area you may also enjoy mountain biking and a Chobe River boat cruise (included). Canoeing / Rhino Tracking
