Run by Wilderness Dawning this quality camping safari explores northern Botswana's premier wilderness areas and wildlife reserves! Guests will enjoy the desert environment of the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans and the Nxai Pan National Park, before boating along the papyrus lined channels of the Okavango Delta and encountering Africa's greatest wildlife in Moremi, Savuti and Chobe! The trip ends at the mighty Victoria Falls! Guests do NOT have to participate in camp chores. The emphasis is on a high quality, personal, African wilderness and wildlife experience. DAY 1 NATA AND THE MAKGADIKGADI SALT PANS You will depart Victoria Falls this morning by road into Botswana via the Kazungula border post. You will stock up on supplies in the small town of Kasane before departing to Nata. The drive to Nata is approximately 300 kilometers and takes about five hours. You will enjoy a number of stops along the way so that you may stretch your legs and have lunch. You will camp this night near the Nata Sanctuary situated on the edge of the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans. Spectacular scenery, flamingoes and various waterbirds (in season) make for a truly unique camping experience. Camps consist of dome tents with camp beds with foam mattresses and sleeping bags. DAY 2 NXAI PAN NATIONAL PARK After a light breakfast, you will drive to the Nxai Pan National Park. Lunch will be eaten in the shade of the majestic "Baines Baobabs". After a short rest the group will continue about 20 kilometers to Nxai Pan. Known for large herds of springbok, the water hole at the heart of the pan allows for some spectacular scenes. DAY 3 NXAI PAN NATIONAL PARK The day will be spent viewing wildlife. After a light breakfast with the sun edging over the horizon, you will enjoy a morning wildlife viewing drive. Drives normally lasts until about 10:30 AM. Thereafter, brunch is served and you will siesta through the heat of the day. DAY 4 MAUN Today you will drive to Maun and Island Safari Lodge where there is a pleasant bar and a swimming pool. The afternoon is at leisure and you may enjoy an optional afternoon sightseeing flight over the Okavango Delta (at own expense). Dinner will be eaten at the hotel restaurant (at own expense). DAY 5 XAKANAXA AND THE MOREMI RESERVE This morning you will depart by road to the Moremi Game Reserve which encompasses one third of the Okavango Delta. After the desertlike experience of the last 4 days you will be pleasantly surprised by the lushness - large trees, permanent watercourses and the grunt of a hippo - these are the sights and sounds that will surround you.

You will arrive in the Xakanaxa area at lunchtime and relax in camp on the fringes of the permanent delta before heading out on afternoon game drive. The Xakanaxa area is situated where permanent water and dry land Delta meet and visitors to this part of Moremi are stunned by the abundance and variety of wildlife in the area which includes giraffe, wildebeest, zebra, waterbuck, elephant, lion and much more! DAY 6 OKAVANGO DELTA AND THE MOREMI RESERVE This morning you will venture into the vast expanse of the Okavango's permanent waters. Enjoy a scenic boat ride along papyrus lined, crystal clear channels. Guests may enjoy a wildlife viewing walk on one of the islands followed by a cooling swim in a safe area. DAYS 7, 8 MOREMI RESERVE This morning you will depart by boat to Xakanaxa and then enjoy wildlife viewing as you are driven to Wilderness Dawning's exclusive campsite within the Moremi Game Reserve. Upon arrival you will enjoy lunch and maybe a short siesta, before venturing out on an afternoon wildlife viewing drive.

Wildlife viewing in the Moremi Reserve is astounding with predators such as lion, leopard and wild dog seen often. Other wildlife includes hippo, wildebeest, and tsessebe and more - the reserve has been hailed one of the best in the world. Day 8 will be spent viewing wildlife. DAYS 9, 10 SAVUTI AND THE CHOBE NATIONAL PARK You will travel by road via the Mabebe Depression to Savuti in southwestern Chobe. The area abounds with rock outcrops and open dry marshlands which makes for stunning scenery. You will spend two nights camping here on the edge of the dry Savuti Channel. Days will be spent searching for the bull elephant and lion that has made this area famous! There are also San Bushman paintings hidden in the rocky hills. DAYS 11, 12 SERONDELLA AND THE CHOBE NATIONAL PARK For the first time in days you will see signs of civilization as you pass through the small villages of Kachikau, Kavimba and Mabele on your way to Serondella. You will spend two nights camping at Serondella where game drives will be conducted along the Chobe River and the adjacent teak forest. Serondela is elephant country and at certain times of the year the abundance of large wildlife can be overwhelming!

On the morning of day 12 you will drive into Kasane to stock up on items you may have run short of before enjoying a wildlife viewing boat cruise on the Chobe River. DAY 13 VICTORIA FALLS Enjoy one last wildlife viewing drive on your way out of Chobe, passing through Kasane and the Kazungula border post, on your way to Victoria falls. After checking into your hotel, the group will enjoy lunch (included). The afternoon is at leisure. Entrance into the Victoria Falls rain forest (US $20) is not included in the trip price. Accommodations: Accommodation is in 2.4 meter x 2.4 meter dome tents (maximum 2 people per tent). Sleeping bags, pillows and camp cots with foam mattresses are provided. Meals are taken around the campfire. Camps will have a shared bush bucket shower and a shared chemical toilet. Hot showers will normally be available every day.

Group size: The maximum group size is 8 guests.

Guides: You will enjoy some of Africa’s most remote wilderness areas in the company of Africa’s top professional and learner guides. You will be accompanied by a professional guide and camp assistant.

Luggage: Baggage is strictly limited to 12 kilograms (26 pounds) packed in one soft sided bag per person. Suitcases will not be permitted.

Trip price includes: transport in specially modified open sided 4 wheel drive vehicles, services of English speaking driver / guide, all accommodations on a fully inclusive basis excepting one night at Island Safari Lodge and one night at the Sprayview Hotel on a bed and breakfast basis, exclusive services of camp assistant, all guided wildlife viewing activities (in open vehicles, by boat, and on foot), tea / coffee and wine with dinner, MARS (Medical Air Rescue) coverage in Botswana and in Zimbabwe, 10% Botswana VAT, and 2% Zimbabwe government levy.

Visas: American passport holders traveling as tourists DO NOT require an entry visa for Botswana. However an entry visa IS REQUIRED for Zimbabwe. This may be purchased at any port of entry for US $30 cash per person.
