Ultimate Africa presents... Season Fishing is best September through March. Activities Activities at Kuteya include fishing (day and night), game viewing, bird watching, water skiing and para sailing (for those who are not afraid of crocs).
The camp is set attractively close to the water's edge, elevated and overlooking an enormous bay which opens onto one of the world's largest man made lakes.
Accommodation is in 4 comfortable, cool cottages built out of stone and thatch, all with toilet and shower en suite. The dining / terrace and bar area are open plan, spacious and built under thatch and command an excellent view of the lake, providing guests with spectacular sunrises and sunsets.
A small pool and barbecue adjoin the terrace. Full English breakfast, a light lunch and good home cooked dinners are provided, along with tea / coffee, snacks and refreshments.
As the camp caters to a maximum of 10 people max you can look forward to the utmost in comfort and personal attention. Boat Details Kuteya has 3 boats - a 19.5 foot cabin cruiser with two 85 Suzukis for transfers (3 hours from Kariba town), an 18 foot Sportser with a 115 hp Mariner which fishes 4, and a 16.5 foot Kafue Sprite an 8 hp motor, which fishes 3. Getting to the Lodge Access to Kuteya is by road, water or air. By road all roads are wide tar until the last 100 kilometers which is gravel and generally good in the dry season. During the rainy season (November to March) a sturdy pick up or 4x4 is recommended. As the last 10 kilometers of the journey is accessible only by boat or extreme 4x4, all parties will be met at Chibuyo Village and transferred to the camp by boat. Their is fenced and guarded parking at Chibuyo Village. The distance to the camp from either Harare or Bulawayo is roughly 530 kilometers (6 hours). Please ensure that you fill your gas tanks in Gokwe as there are no other petrol stations from here on. From Gokwe Service Station turn right onto the Sengwa / Siabuwa Bumi Hills Road and continue until you reach a "T" junction (137 kilometers). Turn left onto the Binga Karoi road (gravel) and travel another 30 kilometers. Turn right onto the Mujere Road and go a further 60 kilometers (the road is signposted) until you reach Mujere Village. Turn left and proceed (approximately 10 kilometers) to Chibuyo Fishing Village. By water guests may be met at Kariba or Binga towns (price on request) or may self drive by boat. By air clients may fly in by float plane from Kariba or Victoria Falls to the lodge or by air charter to an airstrip 1 hours distance from the camp (price on request). 1998 All Inclusive Rates The all inclusive rate per night is US $120 per person. Children under 12 years of age are half price. Tariff is fully inclusive of accommodations, all meals, full bar (local drinks only), tea/coffee, soft drinks, laundry, all activities including unlimited fishing and watersports. Tariff does not include transfer to/from lodge. Please inquire for special off season and local resident rates.
