Wildebeest Migration
Update! It has been raining in the Serengeti and as a result camping safaris have been extremely successful with client’s experiencing unbelievable wildlife viewing in this enormous wilderness area! The big wildebeest herds are still in the Moru, Rongai and Seronera areas. If the rains continue, the wildebeest and zebra will move southward. Camps have been established in the most areas of with the highest concentrations of wildlife and the migration has literally been observed passing in front of them. As a result of the migration, the predators have found themselves in the "land of plenty" and the guides have been consistently spotting the cats hunting successfully. Walking in Tarangire in at the new Kibo campsite has been a great success. Clients have been enjoying walks with guide Noah. Recent clients stated "We spotted 7 cheetah, including a pair of up-close performing back-to-back kills on two Thomson1s Gazelles within a 15 minute period." Another group noted "We spotted FIVE Leopard! Including one, which ran right by us, 15 feet from the truck. How Waziri spotted a few of them hidden within the trees while driving amazed all of us." Others noted "Amongst the 50 or so lion along the way, we spotted close-up a mating lion pair and watched them "do their thing" for an hour or so." On a more general note recent clients stated "We would all like to extend our thanks to Kibo for providing us with an unforgettable experience…it was a good way of seeing a number of different things. Everything went very well and the Tented Safari was exceptional. The accommodations were fine (that’s saying something from a non-camper like me), the food was great, and the staff, especially Israel, made our stay pleasant and enjoyable. I would especially like to congratulate you on your guides. All three of them were super throughout the trip. They are all very knowledgeable and really made the trip for us.
