Kenya joins over 40 countries, including Rwanda, that have made plastic bags illegal in a positive effort to reduce the impact on our environment. However, there may be implications safari guests.

Importantly the use, manufacture, and importation of all plastic bags is now illegal in Kenya. This includes plastic Ziploc and duty free bags.

Travelers caught with plastic bags may face large fines and up to 4 years in prison!!!

Therefore we advise all Ultimate Africa clients to avoid bringing plastic bags if visiting Kenya – and / or Rwanda.
