return to ULTIMATE AFRICA SAFARIS 2004 AFRICA SAFARI
CHALLENGE The rugged and largely inaccessible Matusadona Mountains, in the local language meaning "falling dung", is home to an astounding variety of wildlife. This wild and remote wilderness area boasts the second highest density of lion in Africa, healthy populations of elephant, buffalo, hippo, leopard, zebra, numerous antelope species, cheetah, and the endangered black rhino. You will spend your days tracking wildlife on foot with your professional guide, in hopes of spotting the elusive black rhino. Other exciting encounters are certain as you track through dense bush and along Lake Kariba's shoreline. At night you will canoe to your floating chalet where you may enjoy a hot shower as crocodile and hippo surround you just off the Park's shore! Other activities include wildlife viewing from canoes and by boat. Canoeing / Rhino Tracking
