Ultimate Africa Safaris

"I followed it for days.
Under the scorching sun,
trembling over cracked earth, past unforgiving thorns.

It has now stopped.
I have entered it's domain..
I am so close I hear it breathe.
I am mesmerized.
My instinct is to
conquer the moment.
My desire is to own it.
I need others, far away,

to feel what I feel,
to see what I see."

Survivor 3 - Africa
Survivor Africa News

Environmental Concerns not Valid

There have been many new stories of late regarding a lawsuit being brought against CBS for the environmental destruction of Kenya's Shaba Reserve.

Ultimate Africa Safaris' staff recently visited Shaba Reserve and are happy to note that any environmental impact was slight and most certainly ended when CBS left the area...

There were few, if any, signs of environmental degradation. The challenge, camping, and tribal council areas were unmarked excepting a layer of thatching grass and mud mixed with cattle dung that was spread out upon destruction of the mud and thatch huts (tribal council set) that were used during the filming. The areas where the grass and dung have been spread are showing a vibrant new growth of grass.

Roads in Shaba have been graded smooth and even the area where the large tent city was based shows know impact!

The only possible impact we can envision was that wildlife was disturbed during the period when Survivor 3 was being filmed. On our recent visit wildlife numbers were good and the spoor of the big cats could be seen everywhere...obviously the wildlife is doing well here...
