Malawi Travel Information

Malawi is a warm and welcoming country that offers visitors great scenery, interesting parks and some of the friendliest villagers in all of Africa. If you are keen on experiencing African culture, Malawi is possibly the best country for this (nothing beats landing on the soccer field - which doubles as an airstrip – on Likoma Island and being whisked away in one of the islands two vehicles. One belongs to the lodge; the other is an ambulance for the islands 4,000 inhabitants who you can meet on foot or by mountain bike).

Crystal clear Lake Malawi, nearly 600 kilometers long, dominates the countryside. In between Lake Malawi and the soaring Mount Mulanje at over 9,000 feet, travelers will find lush rolling hills, plateaus, and cool misty mountains. Each of the many diverse habitats is protected within Malawi's eleven national parks and game reserves. Everything, from elephants to orchids, is protected. From horseback rides along misty mountaintops, to snorkeling amongst a rainbow of tropical fish Malawi is sure to inspire.
