DAY 1 MANA POOLS - CANOE THE LOWER ZAMBEZI Upon arrival at the Victoria Falls Airport you will be met and transferred by light aircraft (included) to Mana Pools. Upon arrival you will meet your canoe guide and the rest of the canoe group (maximum 8 guests). This is one of only two canoeing safaris that allows guided walks within Mana Pools! Mana Pools National Park is a wildlife enthusiasts paradise. Wild and remote, the area abounds with elephant, lion, hyena, buffalo, hippo and numerous species of antelope. If you are lucky you may photograph an elusive leopard or a pack of rare painted hunting dogs. The afternoon will be spent canoeing to your first camp. Camps consist of large walk in tents with cots and duvets. Each camp will have a hot bush shower and bush toilet. Meals at camp are of a very high standard. Food is freshly prepared in camp and ice is replenished from Ruckomechi Camp. Evening snacks and drinks are provided as well as cordials and red and white wine with dinner. MANA POOLS NATIONAL PARK, Vundu Camp, all inclusive DAY 2 MANA POOLS - CANOE THE LOWER ZAMBEZI You will awake this morning and enjoy a 3 hour bush walk within the national park. You will then return to camp for breakfast and spend the rest of the morning leisurely canoeing. Lunch will be enjoyed on an island in the river and you will rest through the heat of the day. The afternoon is spent canoeing to your next camp. MANA POOLS NATIONAL PARK, Chessa Camp, all inclusive DAY 3 MANA POOLS - CANOE THE LOWER ZAMBEZI Today there is no morning walk as the day is spent on the river canoeing. In the afternoon you will reach Acacia Camp. MANA POOLS NATIONAL PARK, Acacia Camp, all inclusive DAYS 4, 5 MATUSADONA - RHINO TRACKING Your canoe safari ends on day 4. You will be transferred by light aircraft (included) to the incredible Matusadona National Park. Meaning "falling dung" in the local Batonga language the park is home to the second highest density of lion in Africa and a healthy population of black rhino. Matusadona is home to Africa's "big 5" wildlife species which includes buffalo, elephant, lion, leopard, and rhino. The best way to find lion and rhino in the Matusadona is by walking the shoreline between two given points. Your guide will impart his tracking skills and you will learn the signs of the bush. Although tracking and finding lion and rhino will obviously be a highlight there are often exciting encounters with elephant, buffalo, numerous antelope species, and even the elusive leopard. Although the emphasis is on walking, it is possible enjoy wildlife viewing from canoes and by boat. You will overnight aboard floating chalets (each with a bed, shower and toilet) situated in a remote bay along the Park's shoreline. Fall asleep to the sound snorting hippo outside your chalet's doors! MATUSADONA NATIONAL PARK, Floating chalet, all inclusive DAYS 6, 7 CHOBE - WILDLIFE AND CULTURE On day 6 you will be transferred by light aircraft (included) to the Victoria Falls Airport. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred by road the short distance to the Botswana border and Muchenje Lodge. Bordering the renowned Chobe National Park, the lodge is set on an escarpment edge and has been designed to take full advantage of breathtaking views over the Caprivi Strip. Chobe National Park is home to over 50,000 elephant and healthy populations of lion, leopard, hippo, and much more! Muchenje Lodge offers the most diverse range of safari activities in the entire Chobe region. Activities include day and night wildlife viewing drives, professionally guide wildlife viewing walks, mountain biking, a Chobe River boat cruise, and a cultural visit to the local village. Guests are accommodated in thatched chalets, each with en-suite facilities, and sited on the escarpment edge with their own balconies and unique views. The thatched main lounge includes a dining area, lounge, bar, and game viewing platform overlooking the waterhole. The lodge's swimming pool, built amongst natural rock formations, takes full advantage of the African vista. Muchenje offers an unparalleled safari experience! Chobe National Park, Muchenje, all inclusive DAYS 8, 9, 10 VICTORIA FALLS On day 8 you will be transferred the short distance by road back into Zimbabwe and the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge. After freshening up you will enjoy a guided tour of the world's largest waterfall. Known by the local name "Mosi Oa Tunya" or the smoke that thunders, the falls are a photographer's dream. The spray from the cascading water sustains a rainforest along the gorge's edge and regularly produces rainbows around the falls. Shy bushbuck and monkeys may be seen foraging along the paths. On day 9 you will be met and transferred to Elephant Camp for a morning or afternoon elephant back safari. Lumbering silently through the bush, you will ride high atop a family of mighty African elephants, exploring the wild veld. "Riding an elephant is like following a giant butterfly as you can only see the head and outstretched ears. The beauty of the experience is walking through the bush as a part of the wildlife itself." Please note that each elephant takes two guests On day 10 you will be challenge the mighty Zambezi River! Please note that you must pay a US $10 per person river usage fee upon check-in. After a safety briefing you will enjoy a full day rafting. Lunch will be served on a sandy beach along the river. After rafting you will be driven through the bush back to Victoria Falls as the sun sets on the horizon. VICTORIA FALLS, Victoria Falls Safari Lodge, bed and breakfast.
