Great Plains Conservation Opening New Camps in 2018

Great Plains Conservation is one of the coolest African safari partners we work with and they have some exciting new safari camps opening in 2018!

Duba Expeditions camp is set to reopen April 1, 2018 in a new site located in the Northern reaches of their Duba Concession. The landscape in the North of the concession is rolling plains around classic Okavango palm islands. It is a completely different wildlife viewing experience to Duba.  The camp maintains its previous style, charm and romance but in a new location under the most stunning ebony groves – surrounded by year-round water. If I could I would live there! Maybe I will.

Starting May 1, 2018 you can explore Mana Pools and Sapi Concession, in Zimbabwe, staying in high end mobile-type camps and on star-bed platforms overlooking inland springs. If you are lucky you can catch a parade of elephants by moonlight from your bed! Their 6 night mobile expedition will take you on an adventure reminiscent of the old African explorers.

July 2018 will see the introduction of their new Zarafa level camp within the Zambezi National Park near Victoria Falls and overlooking the Zambezi River. This property will provide stiff competition for nearby Matetsi!

December 2018 Great Plains will be opening of their new Selinda Pioneers Camp in a wild location way up the Selinda Spillway. Small and exclusive, Selinda Pioneers will have 5 elegant tents in an area of mind boggling wildlife. Buffalo herd after herd, lions, dogs, roan, sable, eland, all in large numbers. It’s like 1920’s Botswana!
