New Flight – Fly Direct New York to Kenya!

Starting October 30, 2018 Kenya Airways will fly from New York’s JFK Airport direct to Nairobi, Kenya in East Africa – daily!

 

Travelers will now be able to depart JFK Friday afternoon arriving in Kenya Saturday morning, spend 7 nights on safari at places like the Masai Mara and Laikipia Plateau, then depart Kenya Saturday evening arriving back in New York Sunday morning! The perfect, week long, easy getaway!

 

Say goodbye to long layovers and higher costs / taxes of flying via Europe!

 

Kenya Airways will operate a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner with seating for 234 passengers – 30 fully flat business class seats and 204 economy seats. As to award space — it looks like there are two business class award seats available every date.

 

The flight will depart from Nairobi at 11:25PM arriving at New York JFK at 6:25AM the following day. This will be 15 hours.

 

From New York the flight will depart JFK at 12:25PM and arrive in Nairobi at 10:55AM the following day. This will be 14 hours.

 

The flight is 7,360 miles in each way. The longer westward flight is due to flying against the Jetstream.

 

Other direct safari flights from the USA to Africa include South African Airways who fly from Washington DC and New York to Johannesburg, South Africa and Delta who flies direct from Atlanta to Johannesburg, South Africa. There are rumors that Rwandair may introduce direct USA – Rwanda flights as well!
