Great Covid news from Zimbabwe!
The Zimbabwean Government has announced that Victoria Falls is the first city in southern Africa to achieve herd immunity as 77% of the adult population is vaccinated!
Dr Fungai Mvula, the Acting District Medical Officer for Matabeland North, says, “We would like to thank the Victoria Falls community for taking responsibility to not only protect themselves but also our wider community and for doing their part in the process of bringing back the tourism on which so many livelihoods depend.”
Victoria Falls, in Zimbabwe, is the world’s largest waterfall – a mile wide and 300 feet tall. It is surrounded by national park land and it is not uncommon to have elephant and warthog walking down the main street.
With the expansion of the Victoria Falls International Airport to accommodate wider body aircraft many airlines now prefer flying directly into Victoria Falls for convenience and ease of connectivity.

“I first visited Africa in the late 1980s. I came face to face with a wild elephant, and fell in love with being on safari! I made it my goal to create an African travel company that was all about authentic wildlife experiences. Many years later we are one of the top African travel companies in the Americas – known for arranging custom safaris to East and Southern Africa; personal trips, no cookie cutter stuff.”
